Obedience Training

We at West Geauga believe a well-behaved pet will be even happier and more secure than a pet with no manners that is always in trouble with the humans it loves! While we love pets like children, their minds don't process things just the same. All the staff and doctors are used to "thinking like an animal", and will try to give you all the guidance possible on how to train and enjoy your pet, from the first visit on.

Mrs. Kathy Ehrhart is a wonderful Certified Master Dog Trainer that we are blessed to have on staff. She has been a member of the Association of Professional DogTrainers (ADPT) for 5 years. Kathy offers helpful advice for owners of dogs, old and new, during office visits, and pitches in to help hold the reluctant pet. She offers phone advise on manners, obedience, housebreaking, car chasing, separation anxiety, fear and dominance based aggression.

Kathy teaches group obedience classes for dogs of all ages. Classes are held in the lower level of the clinic or outside, weather permitting, on Tuesday nights. Sessions are 8 wks. long. Pups from 7 wks. on are eligible, as long as they are current on their protective vaccinations, including Distemper, Parvo, Bordetella, and Rabies (if old enough). Tiny or huge, young or old, shy or bold, Kathy knows the techniques to train your dog.

If group classes aren't your thing, or you need 1 on 1 help, call Kathy about private sessions. She also offers advanced classes, agility, Canine Good Citizenship classes and more. She founded "Diamonds in the Ruff" 6 years ago, and has been in demand ever since! She never met a dog she couldn't train--we people can be more challenging! She will have your dog's tail wagging, and you laughing in no time.
